This past weekend, I participated in my first sales event ever: the flea market in Belleville, IL. Despite the rainy weather, I still sold enough prints to cover the cost of my booth. I discovered that the flea market is different from the more crafty events, because people are more inclined to talk you down on the prices you’re offering. Though I love to find a good bargain (and the flea market is full of bargain hunters!), I’m not quite as comfortable being on the other side of a deal. I’m sure that will come with practice, though, and I do plan on continuing to practice this skill!
Both nights, I came home from the flea market completely exhausted but very happy. After spending all day admiring other people’s work and pushing my own, making new friends and catching up with people I hadn’t seen in years, I could barely make it to my bed before falling asleep! But I made it through and am definitely looking forward to next month.
Thanks to everyone who came out to see me, I appreciate your support. I’ll be back for the June Flea Market, June 19 and 20th, Father’s Day weekend. I will be in the Trophey Room, just one booth over from where I was located before. Please stop by to see my new prints!
